By the end of class students will be familiar several varieties of lenses as evidenced by finding definitions of the following terms:
- Field of View This is the widest dimension you can see.
- Normal lens This is a lens with the same file f view as the human eye
- Wide lens this is a shorter field of view (in relationship to a normal lens)
- Telephoto lens A lens that has a longer focal length than the normal lens creating a narrow field of view.
- Fisheye lens This is a wide angle lens that generally covers up to 180 degrees
- Macro lens a lens that is able t take great photos of an object far away
- Prime lens a lens with a fixed focal point
- Zoom lens a lens that facilitates the switching from a long shot to a close up shop (and vise versa)
